Six Steps to Enroll

1. APPLY For Admission

Please complete an application if...

• You have never attended Modesto Junior College.
• Returning students who have had an absence of at least one calendar year must complete another Admissions Applicationto be readmitted to the college.

You may apply for admission to MJC if you:

• Have graduated from high school - includes students who have received high school certificates of completion but have not passed
  the high school exit exam or;
• Have passed the California High School Proficiency Certificate or the GED test
• Are 18 years or older and are no longer attending high school and are able to benefit from instruction
• Are an eligible 7th-12th grade student, must be at least 14 years old, who has met all special admissions conditions
• Are an international student who has satisfied International admissions requirements (see below)
   

 Students can apply:

1)  Apply in person: East and West Campus:

• Request an application from the Admissions Office or the MJC Welcome Center.
• Answer each question using a #2 pencil.
• Sign where indicated 
• Return your completed application to the Admissions Office.

2)  Apply online: http://old.mjc.edu

• Click here to view the online application.
• Click the yellow "Apply" button to enter an application.
• Follow the instructions to electronically sign the application and submit it.

Click Connect to PiratesNet to view the current class schedule at www.mjc.edu or pick up a schedule on campus at the Pirate's Bookstore or in the Admissions Office.  You'll find the most current class schedule information on the PiratesNet!

Registration Date and Time
As soon as your Admissions Application is processed, you may access your registration date on PiratesNet at at www.mjc.edu.

Apply Early!
Registration dates and times are assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis. Applications that are turned in earlier will be given earlier registration appointments. An early appointment will allow you to select from the broadest selection of classes.  

International Students
International students must apply for admission through the MJC International Student Program located in the Counseling Office in the Morris Building, Room 104C.

Advanced Admission for Eligible Junior High and High School Students

Junior high and high school students must complete an MJC admissions application, an Advanced Admission Petition (for Junior High School or High School students), a Health Consent form and a Board of Governors Grant Fee Waiver (BOGW) form.  The Advanced Admission Petition is available in the MJC Admissions Office, in the Welcome Center, and at most high school Counseling Offices and Junior High Principal's Offices.  Concurrently enrolled junior high and high school students must meet all eligibility requirements as outlined on the Advanced Admission Petition.  You can download the High School Advanced Admission Petition here, and the K-8 Advanced Admission Petition here.  Eligible junior high and high school students are welcome to enroll in credit courses numbered 50-299; and in up to 11 units without additional approval.  To enroll in 11.5 or more units, students must have the written approval of their school district's Board of Trustees as well as the MJC President.
